Can I Live Stream Television Channels and Videos With ScreenCloud?

This article will go through how to use live streaming videos on your digital screens with ScreenCloud.

Updated over a month ago

Currently, the ability to live stream television, cable subscriptions, and channels is not available with ScreenCloud without the help of third-party services and tools such as OBS and the premium feature ScreenCloud Broadcast. However, this app is limited to 3 hours per stream, as it is intended to display a meeting or event, and not to constantly stream a channel.

  • YouTube Live app

We would like to recommend using ScreenCloud's YouTube Live app or the available channels in the Live News app. You can use the YouTube app to share any YouTube Live video to your digital screen, stream live broadcasts such as sporting matches or company presentations to a wider audience, and watch YouTube Live videos in portrait or landscape format. Please note that this requires that the YouTube video is not locked and set to only be viewable if viewed on the YouTube.com site.

  • IPTV with Playgrounds app

If you already use an Internet Protocol television (IPTV) service, you can connect this to the Playgrounds app by using the Live Stream template. Please ensure that you have the proper licensing or permissions to display your the livestream on your screens and their locations.
