How to Use Bulk Screen Updates and Actions With ScreenCloud

Learn how to use bulk screen updates and actions to push changes to your screens simultaneously.

1. What actions are available with bulk updates?

Using bulk updates, you can perform the following automatically across your digital screens:

  • Perform actions on multiple screens at the same time

  • Select individual screens, groups, or all of your screens to perform an action

  • Can set content to your screens, casting for screen takeovers, refreshes, and move screens

2. How to use bulk updates for my screens?

Get started by visiting your "Screens" section and selecting screens you'd like to use bulk updates on with the checkmark selection tool. For this example, I'm going to use the "Select All" option. Please note, you can also de-select any screens if you use the "Select All" function from your screens dashboard.

Next, you can follow below on how to use bulk updates to perform the following actions:

2.1. Set Content

You can use this at any time to mass select screens to set any item, channel, or playlist to display on your digital screens. To action, select "Set Content" and use the media picker to select the content you'd like to display on your screens. Press the yellow "Confirm" button once you're finished to action the change on any of your selected screens. Please note, selected content will always be playing.

2.2. Cast

You can use this at any time to mass select screens to set up immediate screen takeovers. This is useful in the event of needing to display critical notices, emergency information or anything urgent across your digital screens. To action, select "Cast" and use the media picker to select the content you'd like to display on your screens. Press the yellow "Confirm" button once you're finished to action the change on any of your selected screens. Please note, selected content will always be playing until it is stopped then revert back to previous content.

2.3. Refresh

You can use this at any time to mass select screens for a refresh. This will reboot the ScreenCloud app across any of your devices this has been actioned for. Refreshes are useful for maintaining the app and device performance over extended periods of time. To action, select "Refresh" while your screens are selected. You'll receive a green notification in the lower right-hand corner of your dashboard once the screens have refreshed.

2.4. Move

You can this at any time to mass select screens to be moved between groups. For example, if you want to move screens from "Group A" to "Group B", you can manage moving screens in bulk rather than one-by-one. To action, select "Move" while your screens are selected and you'll be prompted to select where you'd like to move your screens. Click the yellow "Ok" button and the screens will move automatically into the selected group.

3. How to use bulk updates to manage your apps

The bulk updates feature can also be used to manage your "Apps" with ScreenCloud. Please note, you can use this feature to manage bulk deletions for any app instance.

3.1. Get started by visiting your "Apps" section in your account.

3.2. Select any of your installed apps to manage. For this example, we'll use the ScreenCloud Live News app. You'll notice that you have the ability to check-mark and multi-select app instances. You can use this feature to manage bulk deletions for any of your app instances.
