Gallery for Instagram Business: How to resolve the "There don't seem to be any valid business pages" error message

Learn how to resolve the issue with the Gallery for Instagram Business app and connect your Instagram account's content to ScreenCloud.

Updated over 3 weeks ago

This issue appears when you have connected your Instagram Business account with your Facebook Business page, which causes your Facebook profile to lose its admin access to the Facebook Business page.

For example, you may have connected your Instagram and Facebook accounts as suggested in Reconnect to Instagram with the Gallery for Instagram Business app.

How to confirm that your Facebook profile lacks the correct permissions

You can check if your Facebook profile is missing it's page access by navigating to Page setup:

  1. Log in to your Facebook account

  2. Click your profile on the top right and switch to your Facebook business page

  3. Click Settings & Privacy > Settings

  4. Click Page Setup

  5. You will end up at your Manage and view access page

If you don't see your Facebook profile under People with Facebook access, your profile and login lack the correct permissions. You will notice that if you click 'Add new' and try to search for and add your Facebook profile name, there will be no results.

The workaround for this is to add a second Facebook profile to help set yours to be an admin of the Facebook Page. Instructions on how to do this are added below.

How to connect your Facebook profile correctly so that you can connect to ScreenCloud's Gallery for Instagram Business app

Pre-requisite: Link your Instagram business account with your Facebook Business Page as instructed here. In addition, make sure to have another user of Facebook help assist you with these steps.

  1. Log in to your Facebook account

  2. Click your profile on the top right and switch to your Facebook business page

  3. Click Settings & Privacy > Settings

  4. Click Page Setup

  5. You will now need to invite another Facebook user (by user or email) as an admin to the Facebook Business page. Click Add New under the People with Facebook access. Ensure to enable Allow this person has full control.

  6. Ask the secondary user that you invited (after they've accepted their invite) to add your Facebook profile as an admin under People with Facebook access. You can then delete the secondary Facebook user from the Facebook Page once you have your new admin permission.

  7. After this, you can set up the Gallery for Instagram Business app with your Facebook login as provided here.

How to confirm that your Facebook profile and business page are correctly connected

Please follow the steps below to confirm your admin permissions to your Facebook profile for your Facebook Business Page.

  1. Log into this Meta Business Page: https://business.facebook.com.

  2. Go to Settings > People and ensure that you have access to the page and full control. If you don't have a business page, then you'll need to create one and link the Instagram account to it.

  3. Head to Pages and ensure your Facebook profile (you), is there with full control.

  4. Head over to your Facebook page settings here and sign in.

  5. Switch from your Facebook profile as an individual to the Facebook business page.

  6. Select Page Setup > People with access and ensure your Facebook individual profile is listed here with all the controls of an Admin.

  7. When this is confirmed, you can move on to setting up your Gallery to Instagram Business app in your ScreenCloud account.

Set up your Gallery for Instagram Business app again

Now, as you log into Facebook through the Gallery for Instagram Business app, make sure to click Edit Previous Settings and select the page(s) you have just confirmed are connected with your Facebook profile as admin.

We hope that these steps have resolved your issue with the app not being able to identify any 'valid business pages'.

Please note that the ScreenCloud apps team is currently looking into improving this setup experience for the Gallery for Instagram Business app in the future.
