As you schedule your content, you also have the ability to arrange the playback order within, where you can select to either randomize or sequence your content playback. This requires that the content is first set within a playlist, which can then be set in your channel. This feature that arranges the order of play is Dynamic Play. Continue below to learn how you can use this feature with a playlist.
Here's how it works:
If you don’t wish to always see your playlist run through in perfect order on your screens, you can randomize or sequence the order instead. With this ability to selectively pick content from playlists for each playback loop, you can create a unique and engaging viewing experience every time. This allows for dynamic content presentation that can keep viewers intrigued and attentive.
Please note that a playlist must be set within a channel for these options to be enabled. In addition, if a playlist has just one piece of content in a channel, the dynamic play function is not enabled.
Continue below to see how you can change the order of your playlist displays content with the dynamic play options.
i) Randomize
Once a playlist, which contains more than 1 piece of content, is placed in a channel, you will be able to click a button that allows you to randomize it's playback. This is enabled when you set it on the shuffle button, represented by two intertwining arrows. To randomize the whole of the playlist, select the Play All option.
You can even choose to display just some of the content with each playback. For example, if you choose to select 1 item, the channel will pick one item at random each time it runs the playlist. Once each item, or set of items, has been selected and displayed randomly in a channel, the whole process will begin again, and each selection is newly randomized. The list of item sets you can display depends on how many pieces of content are within the playlist.
Please note, when you set a playlist to display its content randomly, this will not allow it to sync to any other screen which may also be set up the same way.
ii) Sequence
If you wish to play your playlist in content order, but simply shorten its playback as it may contain too many items, you can choose to select to just play 1 or a set of items each time the playlist runs its turn.
This will play each item on its own from the playlist, or by its selected set until the last item is played with the playlist's turn in the channel. Once this is done, the same playback sequence process will play again.
