This guide is part of How to Use ScreenCloud for Digital Signage, a collection of sub-guides that help you learn about using ScreenCloud Studio and the features it contains.
If any of the features do not work, we recommend using an alternative web browser such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. Other web browsers are not recommended to use for ScreenCloud's website. Please visit Which Web Browser Should I Use With ScreenCloud? to learn more.
Create a new playlist
Visit the Playlists section of your account and click on the yellow New Playlist button to get started on adding a new playlist.
Change the name of a playlist
You can change a playlist name by hovering your mouse over it's name and then by selecting the pencil icon.
Type in your new playlist name and click enter on your keyboard to save the changes.
You can also change a Playlist name as you work on an individual playlist by selecting the pencil edit button for the title.
We recommend giving your playlist a name so it is easy to identify it later.
Add or remove content from a playlist
Click any piece of content with your mouse from the right-hand content selector, hold your press while you drag, and drop the piece of content into your playlist on the left.
You can narrow down your view of content by selecting Recent, Media, Canvas or Apps, or by searching for specific files by name.
For a more selective view, select the + Add Content or Browse all content button.
Select your content and hit + Add.
To remove content from a playlist, hover your mouse cursor over it until a red trash icon shows to the right of the content. Select it to remove the content from the playlist.
Change the duration of the content in a playlist
Change duration for on piece of content
In your playlist, click on the time next to any piece of content. This will prompt you to change the duration for it.
You can select the up and down arrows or select and write in the duration with your keyboard.
Change duration for content types
Open your playlist Settings and adjust the duration for Images, Apps, Links, Dashboards, and Documents.

When you update the duration for a content type, this change may also apply to content that’s already in the playlist. For example, if you change the image setting duration from 5 to 10 seconds, all existing images will update to the new duration, and any newly added images will also be set with the assigned duration.
Randomize or sequence your playlist with Dynamic Play
If you don’t wish to always see your playlist run through in perfect order on your screens, you can randomize or sequence the order instead with the help of the Dynamic Play feature. To learn about using this feature, please see the guide Dynamic Play: Randomize or sequence the order of your content in your playlist.
Preview a playlist
As you are working on a playlist, select Preview to see how your content will appear on a standard size screen.
Publish a playlist to save changes made to it
You will always need to select Publish when making changes to a playlist so that it will update on any screen it is playing on.
Your playlist changes will not update on screens unless you Publish it, and updates can only be pushed to screens labeled as Online.
Discard or revert changes made to a playlist
When changes are published to a playlist, you can select the drop-down arrow on the yellow Publish button to view the last update made and the option to discard any changes published.
Duplicate or copy a playlist
Click on the playlist you’d like to duplicate. Click the copy or duplicate button, as seen below, to view the Duplicate option.
A copy of your playlist will be created immediately.
Duplicate or copy a playlist to another space
This option is only visible if you have another space in your account.
While viewing your playlist, click the copy or duplicate icon, as pictured below, to find the Duplicate to Another Space option.
You can duplicate your playlist to more than one space at a time.
Please note that the duplication process may take quite some time, and a temporary playlist will appear momentarily in your current space informing you of the work in progress.
Once it is ready, you'll see a new playlist in your other space(s).
The playlist, and included media, will contain names such as:
[Playlist name] Copy (date)
[Playlist] Copy (date) - [App instant name]
And for media, such as image, video and document files, these will keep their original name, but they will be located in a newly created folder according to how they were copied.

Delete a playlist
While viewing playlists in your account, click on the three-horizontal dots for your playlist and select Delete. You’ll be prompted with a confirmation to delete your playlist.
You can also delete the playlist by clicking on any playlist to view its options. Navigate to the settings panel while editing a playlist and click this to reveal the delete option.
Search for playlists
Use any keywords in the playlist search bar to quickly populate specific playlists.
Share a playlist
You can share any playlist created between Spaces (i.e. a collection of screens, content, and media between teams) that are segmented in your ScreenCloud account. You can do this by clicking on the Share icon while viewing or editing your playlists to set permissions between Spaces that can access the playlists you've created. This is useful for collaborating and sharing information between members of your organization.
You can click the Share icon wherever available in your Playlists section to set sharing permissions. Please note, that only account owners and administrators have full rights and privileges to set permissions.
You can also review any of your Playlists that are being shared by hovering over the Share icon notification. This will be present for any of the playlists you've set up to share between Spaces.
If you don't see an option to create a new playlist or make any changes to existing playlist, it may be that your user profile lacks the correct permissions. For assistance with this, please contact your account owner or admin.
