How to Take Screenshots of What Is Displaying on Your Screens in Studio

With the Screenshot feature, you can easily take screenshots of what your devices are displaying on your screens. This guide will instruct you on how you can use the feature, and here you can find it.

With the Screenshot feature, you can easily take screenshots of what your devices are displaying on your screens. This can be useful for proof-of-play purposes and ensuring what is displaying on your screens is accurate, as well as for troubleshooting purposes.

How to use the Screenshot

To take a screenshot of what a device is displaying on a screen, go to the “Screens” section in Studio and select a screen.

Next, select the 3 dot menu button in the top right and select “Screenshot”. The first screenshot will automatically be taken, showing a “Taking screenshot…” notice as the screenshot is taken.

If you would like to take another screenshot, select the “New Screenshot” button at the bottom of the Screenshot tool.

To view a larger preview of a screenshot, select the screenshot you want from the list of screenshots on the right and it will display larger on the left.

To download a screenshot, either select the smaller download button next to the screenshot you want to download in the list of screenshots on the right, or select the screenshot you want from that list and select the larger download button underneath the preview image on left.

Supported operating systems and platforms

Currently, Screenshot is supported by devices running the following operating systems and platforms:

  • ScreenCloud OS

  • Android

  • Fire OS

  • Windows

  • MacOS

  • Tizen (SSSP)

  • WebOS (Signage)

  • BrightSign


The following operating systems and platforms are currently not supported:

  • ChromeOS

  • iOS & iPadOS

  • URL / browser player

FAQs

Will a screenshot be taken even if the screen my device is connected to is turned off?

Yes. Currently a screenshot will be taken even if the screen your device is connected to is turned off. The reason for this is that the Screenshot feature captures what your device is displaying, and is able to do so even if the screen your device is connected to is turned off or the connecting cable (HDMI or other) is having an issue or is not connected to your screen correctly.
