Scheduling device reboots are recommended as it allows for the app to undergo a fresh restart daily to help the app perform more optimally and stable. Any device and/or app running consistently for extended periods of time, not secluded to just digital signage, can come across crashes or app issues on occasion. These features can help your Chrome devices perform best for digital signage.

How to reboot your Chrome Device manually
Please follow the steps below to begin performing a manual reboot of your Chrome Device:
1.1. Log in to your Google Admin console.
1.2. Click on the ☰ icon beside Google Admin to open the Main Menu sidebar.
1.3. Select Devices > Chrome > Devices
1.4. Once in the Chrome Devices page, look for the serial code or Asset ID of the device you wish to reboot, and then click on that device to open its settings. Please note that your device will need to be Online for the reboot to work
1.5. On the device's settings page, you will want to look for and select REBOOT
1.6. Selecting REBOOT will open yet another window asking if you are sure about rebooting the device. Click REBOOT again
1.7. A new action will start to load under Tasks (⧖), letting you know that the reboot is in progress for your device
1.8. When the reboot is complete, a green check mark will appear, letting you know the reboot was successful. If you have your Chrome device and it's screen in sight, you'll see that it goes to black and that the ScreenCloud launch screen appears before your content is loaded up to play again
Schedule daily reboots for your Chrome Device
Please follow the steps below to scheduled you Chrome Device's reboot settings.
2.1. Log in to your Google Admin console
2.2. Click on the ☰ icon beside Google Admin to open the Main Menu sidebar
2.3. Select Devices, and then Chrome
2.4. Selecting Chrome will open the Chrome settings, where you can then select Device
2.5. You will now open onto Devices > Chrome > Settings > Device Settings
Optional: select your specific child organizational unit if you don't want this to apply to all Chrome OS devices in the head organizational unit (ex. screencloudtest.com in the image sample). By default, an organization inherits the settings of its parent in the organization tree. However, you can override the inherited setting by explicitly changing the setting for the child organization. The new setting applies to users in that organization, and any of its children.
2.6. Find Power and shutdown
If it isn't already set to 1, please set the uptime limit under Scheduled reboot to 1, and save your settings by selecting Save.
Settings typically take effect in minutes, but they might take up to 24 hours to apply for all devices.
