How to Provision your ScreenCloud OS Device with On Screen UI

Learn how to set up your ScreenCloud OS device and connect it to the internet with the On Screen UI tool using a mouse.

This guide provides instructions on how to use ScreenCloud OS's On Screen User Interface, or On Screen UI, to connect your device to the internet and begin displaying your digital signage screen. There are three ways to connect your new ScreenCloud OS device: Ethernet, WiFi, or by using a USB stick with your network config. In our guide, we will walk through the steps on how to connect it to WiFi.

1. How to set up your ScreenCloud OS device for On Screen UI setup

We will select the Station P1 Pro for our setup. However, if your ScreenCloud OS device is already set up and connected to a screen, feel free to skip ahead, and simply remember to attach a mouse and WiFi antenna to your device.

1.1. Unpack your Station P1 Pro and its accessories. Besides the Station P1 Pro device, you will find a Wi-Fi antenna, HDMI cable, 12V-2A (US plug) power adapter, and a 2mm L-shaped Allen wrench.

1.2. The Station P1 Pro supports both wireless and wired connections. For this setup, we will be connecting the device to WiFi network, so please attach the included Wi-Fi antenna.

1.3. Next, connect your Station P1 Pro to a display of your choosing. You have the option of using either the HDMI port at the back of the device or the DisplayPort ver the USB-C port at the front of the device. We have included an HDMI cable in the box for your convenience, but if you need to use a different one, make sure to only connect the ScreenCloud OS device to your display using a standard or high-speed HDMI cable.

Please note that the Station P1 Pro device currently only supports 1 display at up to 4K resolution at a time.

1.4. Connect a mouse to your Station P1 Pro. This does not come included with the Station P1 Pro box.

1.5. Power on your Station P1 Pro using the included 12V-2A (US plug) power adapter and select the channel that matches the input on your Station P1 Pro device.

You are now ready to continue with the next steps.


2. How to connect your ScreenCloud OS device to WiFi with On Screen UI

2.1. As you power on your device, the first thing you will see the the launch screen containing the ScreenCloud logo, and a message saying “Starting ScreenCloudOS” along with the OS version number.

2.2. The screen you are waiting to see is the below On Screen UI for ScreenCloud OS, which gives provides different methods of setup: Ethernet, WiFi or USB flash drive. We'll be selecting the WiFi setup step, so you can go ahead and click “Start Setup” to begin.

2.3. The first task will be to set the date and time, and you will be able to make your selections with your mouse.

You can click the small keyboard corner on the bottom right whenever you need to fill in written information as you setup.

2.4. Select your timezone by typing in the name of your town or city with the on-screen keyboard that appears.

2.5. Once you’ve set your time and timezone settings, you will be prompted to choose your network type. Go ahead and click on WiFi, and then “Next”.

2.6. After taking a short time to scan for available networks, you will see a list of available networks and be asked to choose one.

2.7. Select your network settings: Pick your Authentication setting to be Basic or None, toggle to on for Hidden Network, and input your password if this is required for your WiFi setup. Click “Next”.

2.8. The next steps are optional and should be used only if your network setup requires TCP/IP, DNS, Proxy and NTP settings. If these configurations are not required, simply click “Join Network”.

2.9. Once your network details are confirmed, please allow your ScreenCloud OS device time to run it’s configuration.

2.10. As you wait for the loading screen to configure your setup, you may notice the device looking for updates to its ScreenCloud OS version

2.11. Once all is ready, you will see a “Configuration complete” message on your screen. If you see an error message instead, please head to step 2.14 below.


2.12. The ScreenCloud player and a pairing code will now appear. Your ScreenCloud OS device can now be paired with your Studio account!

2.13. If you wish to review the details of the device, you can click the settings button on the top right, which if you are moving your mouse over the screen.

2.14. If you instead see an error message and not the ScreenCloud player pairing code, please follow the troubleshooting steps below:

  1. For the error message "Your configuration has not been configured correctly", please repeat the setup process by powering the device off and on so that you come back to the On Screen UI.

  2. For other error messages, please find a solution in our guide How to Troubleshoot Connectivity Issues with my ScreenCloud OS Device, and repeat the On Screen UI setup process.
