Understanding Trial and Paid Account Differences in ScreenCloud

Learn the differences between trial and paid accounts in ScreenCloud, and how is billing handled.

Updated this week

Customers often ask what to expect during their free trial with ScreenCloud and how it differs from a paid account. Below, we’ve outlined the key limitations, available features, and steps to upgrade so you can make the most of your experience.

Trial account features

When you sign up for ScreenCloud, you’ll begin with a 14-day free trial. During this period, you can explore screens, content, apps, and features with a few important limitations:

  • Screens: Maximum of 3 screens

  • People (users): Maximum of 20 invited users

  • Premium apps & features: Not available during the trial (e.g. ScreenCloud Dashboards, Single Sign-On, Custom Roles, and other Pro/Enterprise plan features).

By default, billing is not automatic during the trial. Charges only begin once you explicitly authorize billing after selecting a subscription plan. This ensures you have full control over when to transition to a paid account.

Unlocking trial limits

Need to test beyond the standard trial limits? No problem:

  • Trial Extensions: Contact ScreenCloud Support if you’d like to increase your trial screen count or user invite limit. This requires adding your payment details to your trial account.

  • Premium Features: If you want to trial premium features (such as Dashboards or SSO), let Support know you’d like access to the Pro plan trial instead and we'll make the upgrade or you.

  • Compare Plans: For a full list of which features are available in each plan, check out the pricing page.

Paid account benefits

Upgrading from a trial to a paid account unlocks the full feature set of ScreenCloud:

  • No Screen Limitations: Manage as many screen licenses as your plan allows, from a handful to hundreds across multiple locations. Each license requires a purchase.

  • Expanded User Management: Invite as many users as your organization needs.

  • Premium Features: Access advanced features like Dashboards, SSO, Custom Roles, and more if you are on the Pro or Enterprise plan.

  • Active Billing: Once authorized, billing begins based on your chosen subscription plan.

Transitioning from trial to paid

To move smoothly from a trial to a paid account:

  1. Review your trial experience to confirm ScreenCloud meets your needs.

  2. Choose the subscription plan that best fits your requirements.

  3. Authorize billing within the platforms billing page to activate your paid account.
