Managing timezone settings in ScreenCloud allows you to control how time is displayed across apps, devices, and screens. This guide covers how to configure timezone settings for apps, screens and devices, as well as how to change device or screen timezone settings using ScreenCloud Studio or the ScreenCloud OS Remote Device Management (RDM) Console.
Configuring timezone for apps
If you are using the Clock app in ScreenCloud and want the displayed time to match each screen's local timezone:
Do not set a Location in the app. Leaving the field blank ensures that the time displayed follows the local timezone of each screens network connection.
Set a Location if you want to enforce a specific timezone across all screens using that Clock app. This will override the local timezone and display the designated time consistently everywhere.
Another app that displays timezone is the Weather app. This is displayed by each weather location in the app settings. Ensure the device and player timezone is correct to your location when using this app. If you notice the time is still wrong, please inform ScreenCloud Support.
Changing device and screen timezone settings
If you need to change a device or screen’s timezone in ScreenCloud, follow the methods below:
Method 1: Using ScreenCloud Studio
Open ScreenCloud Studio and navigate to your screen.
Select Settings.
Locate the Time Zone option.
Use the search feature to find and select the desired timezone.
Save or apply the changes. This will immediately overwrite the current timezone on the device.
Method 2: Using the Device's OS
Date and time settings will vary by OS.
Open Settings → Date & Time (or Time & Language).
Turn on Set time zone automatically to use your network location, or select your timezone manually.
Verify the time and date are correct.
Restart if needed and keep automatic time sync enabled for accurate scheduling in ScreenCloud.
For ScreenCloud OS, the firmware timezone settings can be applied with RDM Legacy. The initial timezone setting is first applied with WiFi or Ethernet setup for ScreenCloud hardware, the Station P1 Pro and PIXI.
For date and time settings specific to third-party OS hardware, please see the below links:
When setting up timezone settings, always ensure the device timezone matches the ScreenCloud player timezone, unless you specifically wish to have the ScreenCloud player app follow the timezone of another location. This will effect Channel scheduling and all apps.
Proper timezone management ensures that your ScreenCloud setup remains synchronized and consistent for viewers, whether you are accommodating local times or standardizing timezones across multiple screens.
