If you see the following error on your Windows ScreenCloud Player:
“Server connection timed out with https://player.screen.cloud/desktop/index.html”
This is often caused by corrupted local app data. Fully clearing the ScreenCloud Player data and reinstalling the app typically resolves the issue.
Follow the steps below in order to get your screen running with Windows again.
1. Uninstall the ScreenCloud Player
Open Settings on your Windows device.
Go to Apps → Installed Apps.
Find ScreenCloud in the list.
Click the three-dot menu next to it.
Select Uninstall.
2. Locate the ScreenCloud Installation Folder
After uninstalling, you’ll need to manually remove any remaining ScreenCloud files.
Find the ScreenCloud Player shortcut (either on your Desktop or in the Start Menu).
Right-click the shortcut and select Properties.
Open the Shortcut tab.
Look at the field labeled Start in.
Take note of the folder path listed there.
3. Delete Remaining ScreenCloud Folders
Next, manually delete any remaining ScreenCloud folders.
Replace XXXXX below with your Windows username.
Delete the following folders if they exist:
C:\Users\XXXXX\AppData\Local\Programs\screencloud-player C:\Users\XXXXX\AppData\Local\Programs\screencloud-desktop-player C:\Users\XXXXX\AppData\Roaming\ScreenCloud Player
If you do not see the AppData folder:
Open File Explorer
Click View
Enable Hidden items
4. Restart the Computer
Restart your Windows device to ensure all background processes are cleared.
5. Reinstall the ScreenCloud Player
Download the latest Windows ScreenCloud Player from the official download page.
Install the application.
Launch the player and pair it to your screen (use Replace Device if you are reconnecting an existing screen license).
