1. How to set up your ScreenCloud OS device

1.1. First, unpack your Station P1 Pro and its accessories. Please note that you can also follow these steps if you have a Station P1.

Besides the Station P1 Pro device, you will find a Wi-Fi antenna, HDMI cable, 12V-2A (US plug) power adapter, and a 2mm L-shaped Allen wrench.

1.2. The Station P1 Pro supports both wireless and wired connections. If you want to connect your device to a Wi-Fi network, attach the included Wi-Fi antenna.

1.3. Next, connect your Station P1 Pro to a display of your choosing. You have the option of using either the HDMI port at the back of the device or the DisplayPort over the USB-C port at the front of the device.

If you want to connect your device to a display via HDMI, connect the included HDMI cable to the HDMI port on the back of your device, and the other end to the HDMI port on your display.

Or connect the USB-C end of a USB-C to DisplayPort cable (not included) to the USB-C port on the front of your Station P1 Pro, and the DisplayPort end of the cable to the DisplayPort port on your TV or display.

We have included an HDMI cable in the box for your convenience, but if you need to use a different one, make sure to only connect the ScreenCloud OS device to your display using a standard or high-speed HDMI cable.

Do not use a standard or high-speed HDMI cable with Ethernet (LAN), as it can cause issues in the event of the power cycle. For more information on which are the best HDMI cables to use with your ScreenCloud OS device.

Please note that the Station P1 Pro device currently only supports 1 display at up to 4K resolution at a time.

1.4. Power on your Station P1 Pro using the included 12V-2A (US plug) power adapter and select the channel that matches the input on your Station P1 Pro device.

Please note if you want to plug the 12V-2A (US plug) power adapter into a power source that does not have a US plug, you will need a power plug adapter (not included).

2. How to Provision Your ScreenCloud OS Device Via a USB Flash Drive

There are two ways to provision your ScreenCloud OS device. Either via an Ethernet (LAN) connection or via a USB provisioning flash drive. To set up a wireless or advanced network set up, you have to create a provisioning USB flash drive.

This USB flash drive will help connect the ScreenCloud OS device to your network. You can use this USB flash drive to provision as many ScreenCloud OS devices as you like, as long as they are on the same type of connection on the same network. Simply insert the USB flash drive and voila, your device is set up.

Please note that you will need a FAT-formatted USB flash drive that does not come in the box. In case you need help formatting your USB flash drive correctly, check out our how-to article here to learn How to Create a FAT Formatted USB Flash Drive for your ScreenCloud OS Provisioning USB Flash Drive.

The following section will guide you on how to set up a Basic network. If you would like to use the advanced section, please head over to section 2.3.

2.1. How to Provision your USB flash drive (Basic)

2.1.1 First prepare a FAT formatted USB provisioning flash drive and connect it to your computer. Open a browser to type in this link:

https://scos.screencloud.com/start

2.1.2. You will be presented with the ScreenCloud OS configuration generator website. This is where you will provision your USB flash drive. To begin, select "Got it, Let's start!"

2.1.3. The ScreenCloud OS configuration generator has a basic section on the left and a more advanced section on the right for additional network configurations.

To begin, select whether you would like to configure your provisioning USB flash drive with a Wi-Fi connection or an Ethernet (LAN) connection.

If you selected a Wi-Fi network, go ahead and enter your Network Name (SSID). Many routers provided by internet services list the default SSID or "network Name" next to a bar code, usually on the bottom or side of the router.

05.png

Please note that if you select a Wi-Fi configuration, you have the option to hide your network SSID. To do this, go over to the Advanced section and toggle "Yes" if you would like to hide your network SSID, if not toggle "No".

06.png

2.1.4. If you select Ethernet (LAN), there is no need to enter an SSID name and password as your device will connect to the Wi-Fi automatically.

07.png

2.1.5. Next, you will need to configure your network information. Select the type of network authentication you would like to use, either a Basic or Enterprise network.

Basic Authentication uses a WPA/WPA2 personal network which functions by using a shared key or password authentication to access the network.

Enterprise Authentication uses a WPA/WPA2 enterprise network, which is another form of authentication that requires a unique password per user to connect to the network. This provides greater security and is typically used in larger businesses or universities. The benefit of using an enterprise network is that you can easily disable a user's name and password in the database if a security breach is found.

If you selected the Basic Authentication network, go ahead and enter the network password. If you selected Enterprise Authentication, please continue to step 2.2.5.

08.png

2.1.6. If you selected an Enterprise Authentication Network, you will need to fill in the Security Protocol, Identity, Password, and CA certificates.

To start, choose the Security Protocol you use by selecting TLS (Transport Layer Security) or Protected EAP (PEAP).

If you selected the TLS protocol, you will need to provide the Identity and User private key password as seen in the image below.

09.png

Next, fill in the CA certificates if you so require it. With the TLS protocol, you have the additional option of adding User certificates and a Private key.

10.png

If you selected the Protected EAP (PEAP) Protocol, you will need to provide the Identity and Password. You may also upload any CA certificates if your network requires them.

11.png

2.1.7. Next, select your time zone. This step is crucial as your time zone will determine whether or not your scheduled content will be synchronized and ensure the proper configuration of your apps.

12.png

13.png

2.1.8. After you've completed filling in your network information, select the "Generate Configuration" button at the bottom of the page to output your configuration file.

14.png

Once the file downloads, move it to the root folder of your USB flash drive and save the file to the root directory of your USB flash drive.

Please note that the file copied to the USB flash drive must be named scosprov.json. If you download numerous copies, such as scosprov(1).json, please be sure to remove the numbers as your ScreenCloud OS device will not recognize the file.

Secondly, if you are using a firewall, please refer to the link to learn how to whitelist the domain that ScreenCloud needs for it to work.

2.1.9. Now that you are done provisioning your USB flash drive, go ahead and provision your ScreenCloud OS device. Unplug your USB flash drive from your computer and plug it into your ScreenCloud OS device.
