ScreenCloud Studio: Apps

Here you can learn all about ScreenCloud Studio and managing and adding your apps.

Updated this week

This guide is part of An Introduction to ScreenCloud: How to Use ScreenCloud for Digital Signage, a collection of sub-guides that help you learn about using ScreenCloud Studio and the features it contains.

If any of the features do not work, we recommend using an alternative web browser such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. Other web browsers are not recommended to use for ScreenCloud's website. Please visit Which Web Browser Should I Use With ScreenCloud? to learn more.

Please note, that this app instance will no longer display live on any screens, channels, or playlists it’s been added to.

Uninstalling an app (removes all instances)

Visit the "Apps" section of your account and click on "My Apps". From here, select the app you would like to fully uninstall from your ScreenCloud account and digital screens. Please note, that uninstalling the app will remove every instance of the app being used on any screens, channels, or playlists. This will permanently remove the content from your account, we recommend reviewing and using the “Delete app instance” option instead if you’re trying to only delete a specific instance.

Once selected, find and click on the three horizontal dots for the settings drop-down menu in the upper right-hand corner. Select “Remove app” and you’ll be prompted to uninstall the app with the total number of app instances you’re removing from your account.

Log out of an app instance

Certain apps are set up with a one-time login, where you only connect to your account as you set up the app. For these cases, you will need to simply create a new app instance to create your connection to a new account.

However, if the app has a Login button, this can allow you to change the logins - but you may come upon a situation where the pop-up automatically logs you into an account before you can choose to provide details of another one.

To change the app login, please follow one of the steps below with your browser:

  • Log out of the website in your browser

  • Turn off cookies

  • Use a private or incognito browser window

Please review How to Log Into Different Accounts While Adding a New App Instance for more help with this.

Share an app instance between spaces

Apps-guide-17-2.png

You can share any Apps created between Spaces (i.e. a collection of screens, content, and media between teams) that are segmented in your ScreenCloud account. You can do this by clicking on the "Share" icon while viewing, previewing, or editing an app instance to set permissions between Spaces (i.e. teams) that can access and manage any app instance. Hover the app instance to reveal the three-dotted options button, which allows you to find the "Share" button.

Apps-guide-18.png

You can click the "Share" icon wherever available in your "Apps" section to set sharing permissions. Please note, that only account owners and administrators have full rights and privileges to set permissions.

Apps-guide-19.png

Please note there are certain apps that cannot be shared, however. Please find out which apps these are in this FAQ.

Duplicate an app

As you view your app, hover your mouse over it to reveal the three-dotted options button. This will reveal a selection of different options available to you, where you can find the Duplicate button.
