HDMI CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) is a feature of HDMI that allows devices connected via HDMI to communicate with each other. With a compatible ScreenCloud device and display, HDMI CEC enables you to control display power and input directly from ScreenCloud.
What you can do with HDMI CEC and ScreenCloud
With a supported device connected to an HDMI CEC port, ScreenCloud can:
Turn your display on and off on a set schedule using Screen Power Schedule (only on ScreenCloud OS)
Switch input sources on a schedule, for example to switch between a ScreenCloud device and another device (only on ScreenCloud OS)
Lock the HDMI input source so the display always reverts back to the ScreenCloud outputting device if the channel is changed manually
The HDMI CEC setting name varies according to each TV and display manufacturer. Below are some of the names for well known brands:
Anynet+ (Samsung)
Aquos Link (Sharp)
BRAVIA Link and BRAVIA Sync (Sony)
HDMI CEC (Hitachi)
CE Link and Regza Link (Toshiba)
SimpLink (LG)
HDAVI Control, EZ Sync, VIERA Link (Panasonic)
EasyLink (Philips)
Realink for HDMI (Mitsubishi)
Devices that support HDMI CEC
The following ScreenCloud players support HDMI CEC:
Station P1 Pro running ScreenCloud OS version 3.0 or higher
Amazon Signage Stick running version 4.11.2 or higher
Not all HDMI ports on a display support HDMI CEC, so make sure your device is plugged into the correct port.
