What Hardware and Setup Are Recommended for Using ScreenCloud on TVs and Displays?

ScreenCloud offers flexible options for displaying content on TVs and displays, whether you are setting up a single screen or managing multiple screens across different locations. Below, we outline the recommended hardware, setup processes, and considerations to help you choose the best solution for your needs.

Overview of ScreenCloud hardware options

ScreenCloud offers its own dedicated hardware designed to work seamlessly with the platform. For most setups with a TV or Display, we recommend one of the following:

  • ScreenCloud PIXI: A dedicated media player ideal for straightforward, budget-friendly setups. PIXI connects to TVs and displays via HDMI and runs the ScreenCloud Player app. It is a great choice for single or multiple screen setups with standard content requirements. Learn about purchasing a PIXI device and about setting it up here.

  • ScreenCloud OS (SCOS) Station P1 Pro: The recommended choice for more demanding setups, including advanced networks, multi-zone displays, and data-intensive apps. Built specifically for ScreenCloud, it offers the best performance and compatibility across all ScreenCloud features. Learn about purchasing a SCOS device and about setting it up here.

Third-party hardware

If you prefer to use third-party hardware, we recommend visiting our supported hardware page first to find devices that are tested and approved for use with ScreenCloud. This is the best starting point to ensure compatibility before purchasing any third-party device.

ScreenCloud also supports a range of smart TV platforms and third-party media players, outlined below.

Supported smart TV platforms

If your TV or display supports a ScreenCloud-compatible platform, you may be able to install the ScreenCloud app directly without the need for external hardware:

Please note that older Samsung Tizen and LG webOS display models may not support all ScreenCloud features. See Why certain apps cannot display on older Samsung Tizen, LG webOS Signage, and BrightSign models for more information.
