Changing WiFi on your ScreenCloud OS Device

Learn how to change the WiFi configuration for a Station P1 Pro.

Updated yesterday

The ScreenCloud OS powers the Station P1 Pro, offering secure and reliable network configurations. Once configured, the device's network connection is intentionally restricted to maintain stability. Learn how to modify the network connection based on the available options.

How to change the WiFi connection on your ScreenCloud OS Station P1 Pro device

If the device is still connected to the old WiFi

  1. Find your ScreenCloud OS (SCOS) device in your Screens menu.

  2. Click the Station P1 icon or the Open in RDM button.

  3. Select Network.

  4. Click Change network.

  5. Enter the details for the new WiFi connection. Note: The device needs to be online on both the old and new WiFi during this process.

If the device has lost connection to the old WiFi

  • Option 1: Factory Reset (Requires mouse and keyboard) Perform a factory reset to configure a new network connection.

  • Option 2: Mobile Hotspot Impersonation (For simple WiFi setups) If your old WiFi setup only used a standard name (SSID) and password, you can use your mobile phone's hotspot to mimic the old WiFi network. Enable your mobile hotspot with the same SSID and password as the old WiFi. If the SCOS device connects to your hotspot, you can then change the WiFi settings to the new network through the device's settings.

Switching to ethernet

  • To use an Ethernet connection, simply connect a LAN cable and restart the device.

  • To switch back to the same WiFi, disconnect the LAN cable and restart the device.

The ScreenCloud OS team is working on making it possible to change the WiFi settings from the device menu in the future, which will avoid the need of having to perform a factory reset once the old connection is lost.
