Learn how to set up ScreenCloud on Amazon Fire OS devices (TVs, tablets, media players) and easily add content to your screen.

With the release of the Amazon Signage Stick, it is recommended that you purchase this device if you are intending to set up a Fire OS for ScreenCloud and digital signage. Amazon has created this new device to work perfectly with digital signage, so that your content will no longer be interrupted by the Fire TV home screen and other consumer and home services. Please refer to How to Set Up ScreenCloud on the Amazon Signage Stick for Digital Signage to learn how the device works and how you can set up ScreenCloud to display your digital signage content.


1. How to Set up your Amazon Fire TV Stick for Digital Signage

The Amazon Fire TV Stick is one of the simplest and most affordable ways to get you started with ScreenCloud. Please note, that while device support may vary depending on each model, we only recommend using the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K or Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max as they offer great value for money, and are also powerful enough to handle most content with ease. Our only complaint is that this device is not specifically designed for digital signage, in turn, it lacks features such as remote device management which would normally come with more business-ready devices.

1.1. How to Set up Your Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K

If you have already set up your Amazon Fire TV Stick with your TV and are ready to get started using the ScreenCloud app, please skip ahead to step 1.2. but if not, follow along with these next few steps, it's going to be easy!

1.1.1 First, unpack your Amazon Fire TV Stick and put in the included batteries into your Fire TV Stick Remote.

1.1.2 Now connect your Fire TV Stick to a power socket using the included adaptor, and plug it into an available HDMI input on your TV, use the included adaptor if needed.

1.1.3 Next, turn on your TV and select the input source that matches the HDMI input you plugged your Fire TV Stick into.

1.1.4. At this point you should see your start-up screen. Your Fire TV Stick remote should automatically be paired but if not, press the Home button.

1.1.5. Next, you will need to configure your Fire TV Stick. Select your preferred language, and your Wi-Fi network, and enter your Amazon account details. Don't worry, this is the only time you have to do it.

1.1.6. Now you will be asked if you would like to save your Amazon password, so you can easily add other Amazon features such as Echo, we suggest selecting Yes.

1.2. How to Set up the ScreenCloud Player App

1.2.1. Once you have your Amazon Fire TV Stick set up, navigate to the Amazon App Store and search for the ScreenCloud Player app by entering ScreenCloud in the search bar.

1.2.2. Select the ScreenCloud app and select Download to begin the installation process.

1.2.3. When you open the app for the first time you will have the option to launch the ScreenCloud Player app every time the system starts up. If you prefer this, select the option to Start at boot.

If you're not sure what to do yet, don't worry, you can change this from the settings menu later by pressing the menu button on the remote when you are in the ScreenCloud Player App.

1.3. How to Pair Your Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K with Your ScreenCloud Account

Now you'll see the custom pairing code, you can then use this to pair your Amazon Fire TV Stick by logging into your ScreenCloud account here from the web browser on your computer.

Once you log into your account, select the "New Screen" button on the top right corner, input the unique pairing displayed on your TV, and enter the name of your device.

And that's it, you are now ready to set any content you'd like to show on your screen. 2. How to Set up Your Amazon Fire TV Edition TV for Digital Signage

The Amazon Fire TV Edition TVs are affordable smart TVs powered by Amazon’s Fire OS. They offer great performance, and value for money, and come in a wide range of configurations with both HD and 4K options from manufacturers like Toshiba and Insignia. Amazon Fire TV Edition TVs are one of the most affordable all-in-one solutions to get you started with ScreenCloud. But please bear in mind, that while they should be powerful enough to run demanding content, they are not designed for 24/7 operations and do not support remote device management. In addition, devices running Fire OS 8 take a few additional steps to prepare them for digital signage.

2.1. How to Set up your Amazon Fire TV Edition TV

If you have already set up your Fire TV Edition TV and are ready to get started using the ScreenCloud app, please skip ahead to step 2.2 but if not, follow along with these next few steps, it's going to be easy! In this video, we are going to complete the setup using the Toshiba Fire TV Edition TV, but don't worry if you have any other models, the setup process should be very similar.

2.1.1. Once you power on your Fire TV Edition TV for the first time, you will be taken through a few steps to get your TV ready. First, select your preferred language and select Continue on the next screen.

2.1.2. Next, set up your wifi network connection. After completing this process, your TV will automatically check for updates and may turn off and on while doing so.

2.1.3. On the next screen you will have the option to select your experience.

Choosing Basic will limit your access to only Live TV and 5 streaming apps. Amazon's App Store and Virtual Assistant Alexa will also be disabled. For digital signage purposes, we recommend selecting Full as this will give you access to the app store and all the features of the Fire OS TV.

2.1.4. Next sign in to your Amazon account, or create a new one.

2.1.5. You will then be asked if you would like to save your Amazon password to your account so you can easily add other Amazon features like Echo. We recommend selecting Yes.

2.1.6. In the next step, select your preference if you would like to enable parental controls or not.

2.1.7. You may now be asked if you'd like to be presented with popular apps to download immediately, select Get Started if you want to do so or select No, Thanks to finish the setup process.

2.2. How to Set up the ScreenCloud Player App on Your Amazon Fire TV Edition TV

2.2.1. Once you get your Fire TV Edition set up, you can search for the ScreenCloud Player app by inputting ScreenCloud in the search bar. You can also press and hold the microphone button on the remote to perform a voice search.

2.2.2. Select the ScreenCloud app and select "Download" to begin the installation.

2.2.3. When you open the app for the first time you will have the option to launch the ScreenCloud Player app every time the system starts up. If you prefer this, select the option to Start at boot.

3. How to Set up Your Amazon Tablet for Digital Signage

The Amazon Fire tablets are available in a range of sizes are a great all-in-one solution, and are even more affordable than most similar Android tablets! However, performance varies with entry-level options only being able to power basic content as they run Fire OS and do not support remote device management. So if this is something you will want to use, we suggest looking at other options like the Samsung Galaxy Tab lineup which runs on a full version of Android and can support remote device management.

3.1. How to Set up Your Amazon Fire Tablet

This setup process was completed using the Amazon Fire 8 but don't worry if you have any other model, the setup process should be very similar. Now if you've already set up your Amazon Fire Tablets and are ready to get started installing the ScreenCloud app, please skip ahead to step 3.2.

3.1.1. First, unpack your Amazon Fire Tablet and connect it to a power source using the included adaptor and USB cable.

3.1.2. If you have powered on the device for the first time, you will be greeted with the setup screen. First, select the language that you prefer as well as the font size you prefer, then select "Continue".

3.1.3. Next, connect to your wifi network. Once there is an internet connection, your Amazon tablet will automatically update to the newest version of Fire OS.

3.1.4. Now, register your Amazon Fire tablet by signing into your Amazon account or creating a new account if you don't already have one. You will now be presented with the payment option which you can skip this step for now by selecting "Cancel".

3.1.5. On the Fire options screen, please deselect the services that you do not wish to participate in or leave all as is then select "Continue".

3.1.6. Next select who will be using this tablet. This is the section where you can apply parental controls if you will be sharing this tablet with a child. Simply select “Yes, create a child profile” or select “Not now” to skip this step.

You can also skip social network connections on the next screen if you do not want to join right now.

3.1.7. Next You may be presented with Amazon subscription services, we recommend selecting "No, thanks" on all of the options for the time being.

3.1.8. You will then have the option to enable Alexa, Amazon's virtual assistant. We recommend that if this tablet is going to be used solely for digital signage, Amazon Alexa is disabled.

3.2. How to Set up the ScreenCloud Player App on your Amazon Fire Tablet

3.2.1. Once you get your Amazon Fire Table set up, navigate to the Amazon App Store and search for the ScreenCloud Player app by entering ScreenCloud in the Search box.

3.2.2. Select the ScreenCloud app and select "Download" to begin the installation.

3.2.3. When you open the app for the first time you will have the option to launch the ScreenCloud Player app every time the system starts up. If you prefer this, select the option to "Start at boot".
