ScreenCloud Player App: What Is Sticky Mode?

This article will walk through the function and purpose of "Sticky Mode" while using the ScreenCloud app on your Amazon or Android device.

Updated over a month ago

1. What is the Sticky Mode feature?

Sticky Mode is a feature introduced to the Amazon and Android player versions of the ScreenCloud app that mimics the kiosk mode feature.

Kiosk Mode is a feature seen across operating platforms (i.e. Chrome OS, Windows OS, iOS, etc.) which locks down and only allows one application to run on a device. This is useful for businesses and organizations using digital signage to have more security over their devices and reduce the likelihood of any interruptions while using the ScreenCloud app. It prevents users from being able to exit ScreenCloud and use other services on the device, locking down ScreenCloud to continuously run on screen.

When Sticky Mode is activated, the ScreenCloud app will lock down on the device and users can only exit the app by clicking the back button on their Android/Amazon remote or screen at least three times consecutively. Please note, if you don't press the back button three times in a row you'll remain locked onto the ScreenCloud app as part of the Sticky Mode feature.

2. How do I turn the Sticky Mode on or off?

The feature can be accessed at any time through the side-menu panel for the ScreenCloud Player app. Users can open the side menu with their Amazon/Android remote or swiping right if using a touchscreen device while viewing the ScreenCloud app. Sticky Mode can be toggled on and off through the side menu.
