How to Set Up ScreenCloud on the Amazon Signage Stick for Digital Signage

Follow this guide to set up the ScreenCloud player app on your Amazon Signage Stick and display digital signage on your device.

Welcome to the guide for setting up ScreenCloud on the Amazon Signage Stick, a powerful combination for managing digital signage with ease. This guide will walk you through every step needed to install and configure the ScreenCloud Player on your Amazon device, enabling you to broadcast custom content on your digital screens effortlessly. Whether you're new to digital signage or an experienced user, this setup will help you transform your screens into dynamic displays that engage your audience with tailored information. By the end of this guide, you'll be ready to use ScreenCloud for seamless digital signage management.

Prerequisite: An account with Amazon is required, as this is needed to set up your device before installing the ScreenCloud app on it. If you are new to Amazon, click here to create a new account.

1. Unbox and connect your Amazon Signage Stick

1.1. Unbox your Amazon Signage Stick​​​​​​.
1.2. Connect the device to power - A power plug and wire are provided in the box.
1.3. Connect the device to a screen via the HDMI port - A HDMI connection is provided in the box.
1.4. Insert batteries into the remote control - Batteries are provided in the box.
1.5. The device will power on as soon as you connect it to power, and a signage stick logo will appear.

2. Setup the Amazon Signage Stick settings and network

2.1. Connect the remote controller by clicking HOME.

2.2. You will be prompted to click the play/pause button on the remote to begin setup.

2.4. Select WiFi and input login information. You will see a Connection successful message once the device has an internet connection.

2.5. The device will check for updates. Wait a few moments to allow this to complete.

2.6. A 6-digit code from Amazon will appear, along with a link to the Amazon account that you can connect the pairing code with: https://console.signage.amazon.com/.

3. Connect the Amazon Signage Stick to your Amazon Signage account

3.1. Head to https://console.signage.amazon.com/, select Login with Amazon, and then Allow.

3.2. In your Amazon Signage account, click + Add Device.

3.3. As you add device, select ScreenCloud under Apps, and insert the 6-digit code from your Amazon Signage Stick, and click Save.

3.4. Your device will then be listed under your Devices list in your Amazon Signage account.

4. Set up the ScreenCloud player for digital signage on the Amazon Signage Stick

4.1. Once the device has been registered to your Amazon Signage account, allow the device to download the ScreenCloud app and install it.

4.2. When this is complete, the ScreenCloud player app will load and display a pairing code and a QR code. However, two messages will pop-up.

4.3. The first message will ask you to enable the Start at boot option. Click OK, as this is a recommended setting.

4.4. The second message informs you that “This app requires additional permission”. Click OK.

4.5. This will open up on to the settings to Allow display over other apps settings. Scroll down to the ScreenCloud player app and toggle on the switch so that this permission is Allowed.

4.6. The ScreenCloud player is now ready to run as digital signage, and you can now connect it to your ScreenCloud Studio organization! To learn how to pair a screen with the 6-digit or QR code, please see this guide.

5. FAQ

How can I quit the ScreenCloud player app on the Amazon Signage Stick?

It is not possible to do this, as the app is set up to run in kiosk mode. If you attempt to quit the app by selecting Home or Back (Return) on the remote controller, or by using the EXIT PLAYER option in the app’s settings, the ScreenCloud app will continue to open on the screen.

How can I remove the ScreenCloud player app from the Amazon Signage Stick

First, click the trash icon for the device under the Device list in your Amazon Signage account, and then click confirm to remove the device and to also remove the ScreenCloud app from it.

Next, you will need to factory reset the device. Here is how this is done:

  1. Click Options on the remote

  2. Head to System

  3. Select Reset options

  4. Select Erase all data (factory reset)

  5. Select Erase all data

  6. Select Erase all data again

  7. You will see a “Your signage stick is turning off” message

  8. Once this is complete, the device is reset

Once it is reset, you will need to reconnect the Amazon remote controller by pressing the HOME button for 10 seconds while it is situated next to the Amazon Signage device.
