With the ScreenCloud Zoom Room Player, you can make the most of the time between meetings by displaying engaging, relevant content on your Zoom Room screens. When a meeting is not in progress, ScreenCloud takes over to show announcements, dashboards, schedules, branding, or any other digital signage content you choose.
A Zoom account with Zoom Rooms enabled is required to use the ScreenCloud Zoom Room Player.
How to Set Up Zoom Rooms
Zoom Rooms requires 2 sets of hardware.
You'll need a TV, a macOS or Windows PC, and a webcam with a microphone. An all-in-one device with all of these built in also works.
You'll also need an iOS, Android, or Windows tablet for the Zoom Rooms controller app. Set it up as a 'Room Controller' (room control only) or 'Scheduling Display' (full scheduling control) — note that 'Scheduling Display' is not available on the Windows version. Learn more.

Equipment needed to set up Zoom Rooms
You'll need a TV, a macOS or Windows PC, and a webcam with a microphone.
If you are using a Mac setup, you will need a macOS device with a screen, camera, and microphone built-in like an iMac, or a standalone macOS device like a Mac Mini with a camera and microphone added (note that your macOS device will need to be running OS X Yosemite 10.10.X or higher).
If you are using a Windows setup, you will need a Windows device with a screen, camera, and microphone built-in like an all-in-one PC, or a standalone Windows device like an Intel NUC with a camera and microphone added (note that your Windows device will need to be running Windows 10, preferably the most up to date version).
You can refer to Zoom Room's verified hardware at the end of this guide if you are selecting new hardware for this setup.
You will also need an iOS, Android, or Windows tablet for Zoom’s Controller app, used for starting and stopping meetings. You can refer to Zoom Room's tablet recommendations to ensure you select the best devices for this setup.
You will also need a Zoom Rooms license.
Getting a Zoom Rooms license
In order to set up Zoom Rooms you will need to either purchase a Zoom Rooms license (click here to purchase a license) or sign up for a 30-day trial (click here to sign up).
Make sure your account is an administrator account to complete the following steps.
How to Create a Zoom Room
After purchasing a Zoom Rooms license or getting set up with your 30-day trial, log in to your Zoom Rooms account using this link, https://zoom.us/signin.
First, you’ll want to set up a room. In the left sidebar, select the Room Management section then select Zoom Rooms.
Next select Add Room to create your room.
Give your room a name, and make sure your room’s type is set to Zoom Room (for shared spaces). You can also select a location for your room. Then select Finish.
How to Set Up your Zoom Rooms Account with ScreenCloud
These steps require using your computer's internet browser and your Zoom room account.
Create your unique Zoom Rooms player URL
Open the Zoom Rooms player URL in your computer’s internet browser:
https://zoom.screencloud.com
Open the side menu using the button in the top right.
Select Copy Unique URL.
This will open a pop-up, select Yes, I’m sure to confirm that you would like to copy the unique URL.
Here’s an example of the type of URL that will be copied:

With the link copied to your clipboard, or opened in another browser tab, move on to the next steps.
If you click the copy unique URL button again, this will create a new Zoom Rooms player URL and pairing code.
A Zoom Room player set up with a unique URL can only function on a single device. If the same URL is used on another device, one of them will disconnect because the player can support only one ScreenCloud pairing and license at a time.
Add the URL to your Zoom Room Account
Go back to the Rooms Management > Zoom Rooms section in your Zoom Rooms account (to get there, follow this link - https://zoom.us/location), select ‘Edit’ next to the name of the room you want to use with ScreenCloud.
Select the Digital Signage tab.
Click either of the Add Content buttons.
Select the URL option and paste in the unique ScreenCloud zoom rooms player link you copied earlier - https://zoom.screencloud.com/?id=c7805087-689b-410c-b5a6-05712ae86d76 - then select Add URL and then select Add 1 item.
To apply the ideal settings you need to set up the ScreenCloud browser player with Zoom Rooms, please:
Set the duration of the URL you just added to 23:59:59
Set the minutes number for Display Period under 'Start displaying content ▢ min after a meeting ends' to 0 (note that you may want to set it higher than this, as if you have a scheduled meeting and go over time it will stop the meeting, so you may want to set this to ‘10 minutes‘ to allow for scheduled meetings to go a bit over time if necessary).
Set the minutes number for 'Stop displaying content ▢ min before a meeting is scheduled to begin' to 0.
Scroll down and enable the Digital Signage option.
Click Save.
Your setup should now appear similar to the below:
The site thumbnail will appear as black in the Zoom Rooms account settings in your browser. If you wish to view the pairing code, open the unique Zoom Room URL in your browser.
Update the URL in your Zoom Room
These steps are for replacing the previous ScreenCloud Zoom Room Player that used the ScreenCloud browser player URL. Please replace this with the new ScreenCloud Zoom Room player URL.
In your Zoom Rooms account, head to Rooms Management > Zoom Rooms - You can also follow this link - https://zoom.us/location.
Select Edit next to the name of the room you want to use with ScreenCloud.
Select the Digital Signage tab.
Delete the existing URL by selecting the 3-dot menu to its right and choosing Delete.
Scroll up and select Add Content.
Select the URL option and then add the ScreenCloud Zoom Room player unique URL you copied and finish adding it by selecting Add URL and then selecting the Add 1 Item button.
Scroll down, change the URL duration to 23:59:59, and select OK.
Finally, take the pairing code that you see on your Zoom Room screen and replace the existing screen you have in your ScreenCloud account by using the Replace Device feature here.
How to set up Zoom Rooms with ScreenCloud
Next up, you’ll want to install the Zoom Rooms app on your macOS or Windows device as well as your iOS, Android, or Windows tablet.
Download and install the Zoom Rooms app onto the macOS or Windows device that you are using for your meeting room setup.
Get out your iOS, Android, or Windows tablet and download the Zoom Rooms controller app from the app store using the links on Zoom’s Download Center page located under the ‘Controllers for Zoom Rooms’ section.
For an iOS device click the ‘Download in App Store’ button under the ‘Controllers for Zoom Rooms’ section here.
For an Android device click the ‘Download in Google Play’ button under the ‘Controllers for Zoom Rooms’ section here.
For a Windows, device click the ‘Download in Microsoft’ button under the ‘Controllers for Zoom Rooms’ section here.
Sign in to your Zoom Rooms account on both devices and select your room:
On your computer that is running the Zoom Rooms app:
Open the Zoom Rooms app and click Sign In in the top left corner.
Sign in with your email and password, or use Sign In with Google.
Use your account credentials rather than the 6-digit code shown on launch.
On your tablet with the Zoom Room controller app:
Open the Zoom Rooms controller app on your tablet and sign in the same way as above.
You will then be asked to select which room you want to use. Select the room you set up to use with ScreenCloud earlier.
Next, when asked What do you want to use this device for?Select Room Controller if you only want to control your room and Scheduling Display to have full control over scheduling options as well.
If at any time you are asked for your ‘Room Passcode’ to sign out or exit the app, know that the passcode will be 00000 unless you change it. If it was changed, you can find it in your Zoom account in Room Management > Zoom Rooms and the edit section of the correct room in the ‘Rooms Profile’ tab under ‘Room Passcode’.
ScreenCloud’s Zoom Rooms player should start up automatically and act as a screensaver when your Zoom Room Conference is not in active use. Continue below to learn how to use the pairing code to pair to the screen and set it up in your ScreenCloud account.
How to add content to your Screens
If you already used the pairing code from your unique URL, your screen is connected. If not, follow the steps below.
Find the pairing code of the Zoom Room player
When the room isn't in a meeting, the player loads automatically (allow 30–60 seconds on first load) and displays a 6-character pairing code.
Pair the Zoom Room player to your account
Login to your ScreenCloud account.
Click on Screens.
Next, select the Add Screen button.
Enter the pairing code that you see on your Zoom Rooms screen, along with a name for your screen, and click Continue.
You'll see your new screen turn up in the list of screens in your account.

Please note: Zoom does not recommend upgrading to macOS Sequoia for use with Mac Zoom Rooms.
The ScreenCloud Zoom Rooms player is designed to work only in USB mode. This means Android-based conference devices are not supported, since they run the Zoom Rooms app directly on the device in Appliance mode and don’t require a macOS or Windows machine. To function correctly, the ScreenCloud Zoom Rooms player needs the conference camera to be connected to a Windows or MacBook device via USB mode.
