With ScreenCloud, you can show your digital signage content using supported LG webOS signage devices, specifically LG displays running webOS Signage 4.1 and webOS Signage 6.0. Please note that we do not support LG consumer TVs running webOS TV at this time. This guide will walk you through how to set up ScreenCloud’s webOS Signage player app using an LG display, and also how to use the player. There are two methods of installation, and you can either set it up by USB or by URL.
1. How to upgrade your LG display firmware
It is important to make sure your display is always up to date to ensure optimal use. To upgrade your LG display firmware, please contact LG via their Global Service Network here so they can get you in touch with a support representative who will guide you through the process.
2. How to install ScreenCloud on your LG Display
To install ScreenCloud's webOS Signage player app onto your LG display, you will need to prepare a USB flash disk specifically configured to use with LG displays.
Your USB flash disk will need to be prepared in FAT32 format with the partition scheme set to MBR (Master Boot Record). If you are using a macOS computer, you can use the macOS's Disk Utility tool to do this, but on Windows, you will have to use free 3rd party software as Windows' native utilities cannot do this.
Follow the steps below to prepare your USB flash disk on either Windows or macOS.
2.1. Prepare your USB flash disk on Windows
Please see below to learn how to format your USB flash drive with Windows 10. For a more detailed version of the instructions, you can take a look at FAT formatting your USB flash drive on Windows.
Insert a USB drive into a USB port.
Open File Explorer.
Click on This PC from the left pane.
Under the Devices and drives section, right-click the flash drive and select the Format option.
Use the File system drop-down menu and select FAT32 (Default).
In the Allocation unit size drop-down menu, use the default selection.
In the Volume label field, confirm a drive name that will appear in File Explorer.
Under the Format options section, select the Quick format option or don’t depending on the use case.
Click the Start button.
Click the Yes button.
2.2. Prepare your USB flash disk on macOS
Please see the instructions from Apple support below to learn how to format your USB flash drive with macOS Monterey 12. For a more detailed version of the instructions, you can take a look at FAT formatting your USB flash drive on macOS.
In the Disk Utility app on your Mac, choose View > Show All Devices. If Disk Utility isn’t open, click the Launchpad icon in the Dock, type Disk Utility in the Search field, and then click the Disk Utility icon.
In the sidebar, select the disk you want to format to use with Windows computers.
Click the Erase button in the toolbar.
In the Erase dialog, click the Scheme pop-up menu, then choose a partition scheme.
Click the Format pop-up menu, then choose one of the following:
MS-DOS (FAT): Choose this format if the size of the disk is 32 GB or less.
ExFAT: Choose this format if the size of the disk is over 32 GB.
Enter a name for the volume. The maximum length for the volume name is 11 characters.
Click Erase, then click Done.
2.3. Download the ScreenCloud app onto your USB flash disk

2.3.3. After you download the app, drag it into the application folder you just created, like so:

2.3.4. Next, select the Eject button next to your USB flash disk to properly remove your USB flash disk from your macOS computer. If you are using a Windows computer, you can find the Eject option by right-clicking the flash drive in File Explorer.

5. LG webOS Signage Player limitations
The ScreenCloud LG webOS Signage player isn't able to perform to the highest capacity compared to other ScreenCloud players, and experiences issues with playing more than one video at once, and also with certain apps for webOS Signage 4.1 and webOS Signage 6.0.
Black screen issue when switching from video content to next content. Because of the software limitations of the LG displays, black flashes occur when content switches from video content to any other content, like another video, image, or app. The issue does not appear if non-video content changes to a video.
Inability to play two videos at once. Running more than a single video at a time on your LG WebOS display with ScreenCloud will cause issues. Your best practice would be to display only a single video on one of your zones if you intend to run a multiple-zone layout with a Channel. If you play two videos or more at once, the player is likely to crash.
Inability to run certain apps. Older OSs have been built with earlier Chromium builds. Please see here to learn which apps and which WebOS versions are affected.
Currently, you may experience an issue with video playback issues with LG webOS Signage's OS versions higher than 03.22.20, which causes a green line glitch. If you experience this issue, we recommend not upgrading to later versions for the time being, and that you please downgrade to version 03.22.20. Please contact LG Support for help with steps on how to downgrade to this version.
