Follow the steps below if you need to manually update your PIXI device to the latest OS version.
You can do this by either having the device check for updates online or by connecting a USB flash drive with the update file (coming soon). To check if a newer OS version is available for your device, refer to the PIXI Changelogs article.
Manually update your PIXI with a system update
Use the PIXI remote controller's hamburger menu button, or the three lines button, to open the ScreenCloud side menu.
Navigate to More Settings and hit OK.
Select OS Update Channel and then Check OS Update.
Select the Check System Update option
Allow the device to check online and find a newer OS version, and select Update Immediately.
Wait for the device to download and install the update.
Make sure to keep the device powered on and connected to the internet at all times.
When the update is complete, a message will appear on screen. Select Reboot.
Your device will restart and and now be updated to the newer OS version!
Manually update your PIXI via USB with an updater file
Download the PIXI USB updater zip file. To request this, please reach out to the support team.
Don't extract the zip file, but simply set it into a USB flash drive, as the device will install the update from the zip file. Format the USB flash drive as directed in How to Create a FAT Formatted USB Flash Drive for your ScreenCloud OS Provisioning USB Flash Drive.
Connect the USB flash drive to the PIXI's USB port while the device is on.
With the PIXI's remote controller, navigate to More Settings > OS Update Channel > Check for OS menu, and select Browse Update File. This will open a file browser window into the USB drive.
Search for the PIXI updater zip file and select it.
Select Update Now.
Wait for the update to take place, and make sure to not power the device off while it is updating.
Once complete, hit Reboot.
Your device will now be updated to the newer PIXI OS version from the USB updater file.
