These devices are no longer fully supported by ScreenCloud. If you're still running ScreenCloud on Samsung displays with Tizen 4 or LG displays with webOS 4.1, you'll need to upgrade your hardware to continue using ScreenCloud as intended.
Why we are phasing out support
These displays use a Chrome build from 2017 that no longer receives security updates. Samsung SSSP 6 on Tizen 4 ships with Chromium 56, and LG webOS Signage 4.1 ships with Chromium 53. ScreenCloud's security standards require running on supported browser versions, and these devices have reached their Chromium version limit with no path to update. Features have already started breaking, including the Embed, Noticeboard 2.0 and Google Slides apps, and more are expected to follow. This is not a one-off bug; it reflects the fundamental browser limitations of these device classes.
What still works in the meantime
At the moment, only the following will display reliably on these devices via ScreenCloud's uploaded Media:
Images
Documents
Videos
Why do I still see apps or content in the screen preview?
The paired screen preview will display apps, links, and Canvas content as normal, but the Screenshot feature reveals the true output — confirming that the device's outdated Chromium build is preventing this content from rendering correctly.
Connect a media player to upgrade your display
The good news is that these are displays, so you don't need to replace your screens entirely. Simply connect a supported media player to continue using ScreenCloud on the same hardware.
We recommend one of the following:
PIXI — ScreenCloud's own media player, built for digital signage at a budget price.
Station P1 Pro — A robust option for enterprise networks, running ScreenCloud OS.
Amazon Digital Signage Stick — A low-cost third-party option that works with ScreenCloud. Find out setup steps here. (Currently US only)
Once you've connected a replacement media player to your display, use the Replace Device feature to transfer your existing screen license to the new hardware. This ensures you keep your current screen setup without being charged for an additional license. Avoid pairing the new device as a fresh screen unless you have first deleted the old display's pairing. Keep an eye on your available licenses before pairing to avoid unexpected charges.
